12 – Why Ukraine Must Win – and What Germany Needs to Do [Part 1]

Show notes

In a very special BerlinsideOut, Ben and Aaron are joined by HE Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration directly after her keynote speech at the DGAP on 24/11/2023 - in which she outlined not only why Ukraine must win, but also why EU and NATO accession would benefit all Europeans, including Germans.

We discuss the problems of Europe’s current Ukraine strategy, which locks in the costs of defeat without securing the benefits of victory with German parliamentarians Dr Kristian Klinck MdB (SPD) and Alexander Müller (FDP), as well as retired Australian Army Major General Mick Ryan, author of “Futura Doctrina” on Substack as well as one of the most prominent and insightful commentators on the war – and why Ukraine needs to win it.

At a conventional war level, talk of Russian escalation is just plain nonsense. Russia is running its hardest already. It has no more fuel in its tank. NATO's combined GDP is more than 30 times Russia's. Germany please wake up.

Germany will give euros but not the equipment Ukraine needs to win. German is scared of Russia. Its behaviour has not advanced since Jan 2022 when it blocked the RAAF flying critical weapons to Ukraine. Shame on Germany. It is a complete joke to call Germany world leader.
